None of this testing is necessary, it is all a function of racism

All standardized tests in K-12 are eugenics. They are summative tests that entire point is to excuse the ranking, categorizing, and punishment of historically excluded groups.

Standardized tests are presented in the same way with the same questions. It assumes everyone was raised in the same environment, given the same information, and interprets that information in the same way.

This is an impossible scenario. Anyone who has done any research knows it is an impossible scenario.

It is barbaric, and it is why the rich to this day don’t participate. They either go to schools that don’t require it, or they pay a person to do it for them, and they feel absolutely nothing about it.

Testing is what the children of the poor have to do to prove their worthiness.

The cheating scandals aren’t scandals. At least to the rich, the rich interpret rules differently. See my second graph.

When schools began in the United States, as in all of the West, it was to educate the elite. There was no standardized testing. The assumption was that humans could learn, and that is still the assumption.

They only test children whose humanity is in question.

In the US, when schools began, there were little to no grades, no standard curriculum, and in some places like those who embraced the Flexer method (the same Flexer who closed African American medical schools), no academic record of students were kept. The emphasis was on small learning groups, individual development, and hands-on activities.

The graduates of the schools went on to top universities of the day and went on to found new ones like Columbia Teacher’s College.

As the idea of school moved from the elite, learning to training the masses, those ideas changed.

In the 1923 book, “A Study of American Intelligence,” psychologist and eugenicist Carl Brigham wrote that African-Americans were on the low end of the racial, ethnic, and cultural spectrum. Testing, he believed, showed the superiority of “the Nordic race group” and warned of the “promiscuous intermingling” of new immigrants in the American gene pool.

The NEA states that Brigham argued that the US education system was in decline and “will proceed with an accelerating rate as the racial mixture becomes more and more extensive.”

While the origin of standardized testing from the beginning was purposed to favor the better of the masses (the white or soon. to be white), it was still a test. A test that the most privileged children did not have to be subjected to, because they were born into humanity.

“The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and you spend twenty years proving that you do. Somebody says your head isn’t shaped properly, so you have scientists working on the fact that it is. Somebody says you have no art, so you dredge that up. Somebody says you have no kingdoms, so you dredge that up. None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing.”

—Toni Morrison, Portland State, “Black Studies Center public dialogue. Pt. 2” May 30, 1975

None of this testing is necessary. Standardized summative testing in K-12 is not testing what you think it is testing.
