Save Our Seniors Network, Fighting the displacement of seniors during COVID19 in Los Angeles’ Japanese American community

High death rates and disrespect of seniors of color across the nation

Anti-Asian violence takes many forms. Today is ten days after the anniversary of Executive Order 9066 issued by U.S. President Roosevelt that incarcerated Japanese Americans during World War Two. Pacifica LLC is currently preparing to move Japanese Americans seniors from their nursing home facility. A facility created with mutual aid from the Japanese American community. Listen to this heartbreaking interview by Public Intellectuals’ editor Teka Lo with Taiji Miyagawa, a lead organizer at Save Our Seniors Network who is helping in the fight for the heart of the Japanese American community and against the abuse of seniors. This unnecessary violence is impacting seniors across the U.S.
