Impeachment of white fragility, the southern hospitality of racism

Today the US House delivered an article of impeachment against Trump to the US Senate. Senator Cruz and Senator Hawley feel an impeachment would be disruptive, which is interesting, because encouraging a coup, as Cruz and Hawley did, would appear to be the more significant disruption.

Senator Hawley is now playing white fragility card, whining about being “cancelled.” He is a liar. He knows exactly what he did. He is an exceptionally bright and clever man.

White fragility is as much of a lie as the white supremacist assertion that the election was rigged. The racist mobs know it was not rigged. They are liars. They regularly admit that they are deplorable liars and that anything goes to push their way of life.

“Extremism in liberty is not a Vice!” —Goldwater, the architect of the Southern Strategy.

There is nothing delicate about this situation of racism. It is white rage. It is not a beautiful flower. It is a sadistic monstrous beast that wants the object of its wrath to beg for mercy. White fragility is the southern hospitality of racism.

Neither Trump, nor his supporters are the misunderstood working class, they are racist  grotesqueries, being held up by the lie of white fragility. White racists can handle the truth and they understand the difference between truth and lies. The US needs to cease treating them with kid gloves.

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and [B]lack people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or [B]lack, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and [B]lacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

Dan Baum’s interview with Ehrlichman Nixion’s Assistant in Harpers Magazine

A group of people who would destroy Black people with a lie and then attempt to unravel the country’s already scathed fabric —in large part because of the South and Southwest dedication to the Confederate’s brand of racism, all because a Black man was president —has no morals.

When you have morality-based arguments with the right, you’ve already lost. Their ideas aren’t about morals. Republicans aren’t conservative. They are racist. They are not ignorant, they are racist. They know exactly what they are doing. We will continue to lose to them if we continue to treat their lies as honest positions. The racist right has told us since they tried to destroy this country the first time, they don’t care. Their church, the racist -flavored, Southern Baptist Convention broke up the American Baptist Churches, USA church specifically so they could continue to own Black people. They wrote a book and made a movie, the first US movie, “Birth of a Nation,” to continue to lie and manipulate history. To this day, they still have most Americans believing “The South” is merely a region flavored with 11 herbs and spices that is completely disconnected from terrorizing people.

The Southern Strategy will continue as long as Dixie is beating in the background. Racism will continue in this country if we continue to let the Republicans, Dixiecrats, and Libertarians get away with their lies.

This time, they must pay for their treasonous crimes. Trump must be impeached and convicted of treason, and his racist supporters must understand that organized racism will no longer find comfort in the US government, and we’re no longer entertaining their vile lies.
